Methodology
Full Body vs Split for Fat Loss
Francesco Zen, founder of ZTraining · Last updated June 20, 2026
| Situation | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Daily, low intensity, ~15 min bodyweight | Full body |
| Most other situations | At least upper/lower split |
Why frequency decides this, not preference
Full body works well at low intensity and high frequency, but at standard training frequencies, an upper and lower split allows more recovery between sessions, and that recovery is what allows training to actually go deeper and produce better results.
