How to Choose an Online Fitness Coach

Green flags

  • Real body transformation evidence, not stock photography or borrowed results.
  • Professional conduct on social media, consistent over time, not just around launches.
  • A clearly stated refund policy, visible before you commit, not something you have to ask for.
  • A methodology that's actually explained, not just claimed.

Red flags

Coaches often default to giving every client the same plan they personally use, regardless of fit. A short consultation, even just an email exchange, is usually enough to get a real feel for whether someone is paying attention to you specifically or running a template.

Worth knowing

Worth knowing Some coaches in this space have built high-ticket pricing largely on social following rather than results, and follower counts can quietly inflate someone's perceived value beyond what they actually deliver. I've had clients who'd previously paid more than I charge for advice built on little real experience, with no refund option and limited substance behind it. It's worth checking more carefully than the marketing alone suggests.
