Refeeds and Diet Breaks, When to Use

Refeeds
A refeed implies undereating, with the target being fat loss or a metabolic reset. If recovery is being managed accurately, a refeed isn't actually necessary, it becomes a patch rather than a real step in the protocol. The one clear exception is muscle gain: when the body is under stress from heavy-to-light working sets, a refeed for extra glycogen storage refill genuinely helps.
Diet breaks
For professional athletes facing a genuine social occasion, a diet break makes sense. Outside that, it doesn't, diet is part of the work and the performance, not separate from it.
"If it feels like a diet, there's already a mistake, in preparation or skill, not in the need for a break."
Why this approach avoids needing either
The carb-based approach here is built around genuinely great meals, even with Michelin-trained chef preparation involved through ZLIFE, so nobody actually feels like they're dieting. One or two unfiltered restaurant meals a week cause no real issues, and the longer someone stays on the plan, the more stable it becomes. The need for a break is usually a sign something upstream needs fixing, not a real requirement of the plan itself.
